I’ve long had a fascination with ancient cupules. Cupules are one of the most ancient and widespread forms of rock art known to archaeology. They are the most widespread human made formation found all over the world.

Working as an archaeologist, I would often, and still do, come across small cupules created by the native people. They were also used for possible ceremonial uses, marking direction, and grinding small herbs.
I often sit and try to imagine what them being formed meticulously by pounding the stone repeatedly. Still when I find them, I get extremely excited.
This stone reminded me of an ancient cupule.

Labradorite is often called the stone of magic or the aurora stone, and its meaning has deep roots in myth and metaphysical tradition

It is believed to shield the aura and strengthen one’s inner energy during times of change. It’s a stone of awakening and intuition, said to help bridge the physical and spiritual worlds.

Ancient Inuit lore says the Northern Lights were once trapped in stone until a warrior freed them with his spear. Those lights became labradorite’s flashes of color (called labradorescence).
